Ali Ansary, the Co-founder of SeventyK, tells about the rise of a new cancer segment - the adolescents and young adults (AYAs), those aged 15 to 39, in The Huffington Post. Unlike pediatric or geriatric cancer survival rates which have changed for the better, the survival rates of AYAs have not changed for the past two decades.

The Colorado Medical Society passed Res-7A-AM11 and promoted the International Charter of Rights for Young People With Cancer. The resolution and charter address the issues that AYAs commonly face as cancer patients, such as fertility preservation and the difficulty of transitioning from pediatric to adult care. Additionally, they promote the unique needs and rights of AYA cancer patients, that should be brought to the attention of patients and healthcare providers alike.
